honey_and_ham_chipsIf a Seventh Day Adventist eats a ham flavored potato chip, is he in violation of his religious obligations? I found ham flavored potato chips yesterday in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. They rock! Ever since I found the roast chicken variety I've kept my eyes on the shelves in every grocery I can find. Yesterday was my lucky day. I found ham. Gross you say? Consider the options.

Ham in Belize is a unusual for some reason. Unless of course you think that canned ham counts. We've got plenty of that but honestly it tastes like shit. The regular ham is somewhat of a cross between baloney and ham or just baloney they call "ham". My friends here talk about smuggling in ham and turkey since the local variety doesn't make the cut. My ham flavored potato chips taste like ham and have no grissle. Very nice, light, crispy, and full of favor.

I looked on the bag itself. The wonderful polish people came up with this one and then the lebanese chose to import it. The brand name is "Chio". I'm not sure how to pronounce it though. Look for both the roast chicken and honey ham varieties. They are the best ones.
