I think that both Eunes and I find this to be one of the most pleasant little bed and breakfasts in Belize altogether. I think you'll find it to be a pretty authentic Belizean experience. D' Nest Inn is run by Addy and Gaby Ake. Both are retired except for running the inn now. This visit we stayed downstairs in the spare room since the regular rooms where booked. We also had the absolute pleasure of visiting while some of the grandchildren were around since their parents were attending a wedding.
Now don't expect the finest furnishings and a five star breakfast by a european chef. What you can expect is a nice quaint room, in a clean facility, and a geniune belizean meal cooked fresh and served with a warm smile. Today Addy served fry jacks, beans, and bacon with orange juice and coffee. The grandchildren help throughout and don't worry because the kids were very well behaved.
Addy also gave us a ride to Caye Caulker Water Taxi as she had time today. I think that they tend to cater a bit to their guests. It would explain the consistent number one or two ranking in Trip Advisor for Bed and Breakfasts in Belize City. The grandkids came along for the ride. They did great except Brittany called dibbs on the front seat and snuck in front of me so I had to split it with her. After that Kylee, her younger sister, decided that she should be in the front seat too. Addy zipped throught the streets of Belize with all of us in tow while all of them gave us an encore rendition of the Belizean National Anthem. They all sing good.
We've had the pleasure of staying in the regular rooms before. It's victorian decor with a comfortable bed. All the rooms are regular size bedrooms and are honestly just fine for two. Don't expect to shove a family in there easily. You'll get a strong wireless signal from all parts of the hotel and wireless is free. Purified water is available for free. The sitting room is now complete, comfortable, and ready for use. Prices are very reasonable. Check out the website and my panoramas on the site to get a better view of what to expect.
Regards,
Ben
