Immersive Panoramas

E-mail Print PDF

A twilight view of the central courtyard at The Phoenix

Panoramic photography is a technique where many pictures are combined to form one larger image like the image above. The technique is used to when a photographer wants to show more than what he can with one photo. In the above case, you are really looking at a 360 degree view (horizontal) of this facility. This type of panorama is what's known as a cylindrical panorama.

I produce what are known as immersive panoramas. You can literally view any direction from one spot by moving the controls on the viewer. When done correctly the result is spectacular and makes a very powerful presentation. Incidently, the image is above was taken with a Canon 5D Mark II, Sigma 8mm f3.5, and on a tripod. It's a panoramic image of the pool and courtyard of the Phoenix Resort in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. Click on the image to enter one of my virtual tours of the Phoenix Resort. Left of the image you'll also be able to view some of my other panoramas and virtual tours. I hope you enjoy them as much as I've had producing them.
