Best damn bottle rocket fight in the world!

This wonderful little event in Mexico is called La Alborada. From my understanding which is limited, this is the festival of Saint Michael. Considering I´m in San Miguel de Allende I can understand why this is such an absolutely extravagant event.

This festival is supposed to start Friday but seems to start around Thursday evening. It´s got it all; parades, food, churchgoers, private parties, large block parties, insane crowds, and yes... the GIANT bottle rocket fight. Yes, I know it has a strong religious significance. That´s nice.

Now some of you will start yapping about safety. If you want safety bring an athletic cup and safety glasses to the party. This was FANTASTIC fun.  I highy recommend this fight commemorating the battle between San Miguel and Satan. It´s starts Saturday morning at 4am sharp.

Be ready with your camera. Colors are corrected but not enhanced. Images are shot at 26,500 ISO (or close to that) so there´s noise reduction. A really BIG thanks to Susan and Chuck at Casa Shuck Bed & Breakfast in San Miguel de Allende for showing me the light on this one.
